India replaces the Ice Bucket Challenge with the much more sustainable Rice Bucket Challenge

After seeing the dramatic results from the Ice Bucket Challenge, Indian journalist Manju Latha Kalanidhi was compelled to start something similar, but with an Indian slant. “I felt like doing something more locally tangible. Rice is a staple here,” Kalanidhi told CNN. “We eat it every day, we can store it for months. Why not donate rice to someone who is hungry?”

It’s fairly simpleFollow micdotcom

I’m not the best there ever was

I’m not the smartest, the most meticulous, the most studious, the most articulate

I’m not the strongest, the wisest, the most loving, the most tactful or the fastest. I’m not the most beautiful or the sexiest. I’m not the tallest, the skinniest, the bravest, or the sweetest.

But I am me.

I work hard to be good at what I love to do. I don’t always work the hardest, but I try to do my best with what I have.

My best.

Can’t be all I can and ever will be at once right? So though I’m not the most patient, I think I can stand to wait.

This journey’s pretty cool.

suffice it to say it is one of the greatest of all existing videos

The trend of labeling women “crazy” is part of the culture that socializes women to go along to get along. When women are told over and over again that they’re not allowed to feel the way they feel and that they’re being “unreasonable” or “oversensitive”, they’re conditioned to not trust their own emotions. Their behavior – being assertive, even demanding or standing up for how they feel – becomes an “inconvenience” to men and they’re taught not to give offense and to consider the feelings of others before their own.

Watch The Artist Kousyuuya Paint a Dragon’s Body in One Masterful Stroke

blog Iromegane

Wacth the videos after the text:

Dragons are considered to be similar to guardian angels. They are talismans against evil and bring good luck. For ages they have adorn Shinto shrines and temples.

Pictures of dragons are also believed to bring good luck, good fortune and family security.

The artists at Kousyuuya only create dragon art, but as you can see, they do it very, very well. Every work is personalized and painted right in front of the customer, who chooses the design, color, and kanji of the characters.

I will allow space for all the feelings my heart holds. I will not cower or hide from myself. It’s okay to feel the ugly messy things. It’s okay to feel the burning brilliance of beauty. It’s okay to feel the soft winds of happiness and the quiet bursts of loneliness. Its okay to feel it all. It’s okay to be myself, all of myself, not just the good.

Such an annoying thing

to be at the end of my second week of working at my amazing first job and realize that what I’ve told myself I was going to do right after graduating for years is now no longer appealing

I love the school I’ve found, Antioch. But I’m barely 22. I don’t wanna lock myself down into seriousness again, I like what I’m doing. I don’t wanna go all the way across the country, though I’m sure there will be much opportunity out there… I’m not ready yet. Maybe I will be in the next 6 months. Or maybe I won’t. If not, I’ll stay my ass right here at my amazing job and study somewhere around here. Or maybe lol I won’t.

Maybe I’ll just… keep smiling.
